It has been a while since I gave an update on Eremos’s progress. We got our second fan installed! This second install went splendidly, much like I expected the first install to go (even though we had zero experience then). We were done in just under two hours. It was a hotter day than when we installed the first fan, so it is a good thing it didn’t take as long. Cloud cover helped a bit, but we utilized some umbrellas for shade as well.

With the second fan installed, it was time to hook up both fans to power and test them out. This was much easier said than done. There are plenty of videos explaining how to install the fans, but not much information out there on how to connect them to power. Apparently wiring and electricity is supposed to be common knowledge… We struggled, bought the wrong items, struggled some more, and finally we got our fans functioning. We wired each fan into a simple fuse box which we can plug into our ECOFLOW RIVER Pro via a cigarette lighter adapter for the 12v plug. Unfortunately, one of our fans must have some kind of circuit board malfunction because the buttons and remote do not work. The fan just turns on when powered and cannot be controlled. The other one works perfectly; we can control the speed and direction of the fan using the buttons on the fan. Once the fans were powered, we thought it would be a good idea to test fit a king size mattress. As we tested out said mattress, we decided it would be fun to take Eremos for a tiny adventure the following weekend for Memorial Day.

We settled on Flagstaff as our destination for Eremos’s maiden voyage. It is far enough away to give us a good drive and there are plenty of boondocking options. We used Sēkr to find a dispersed camping area just north of Downtown. We found a great place to park in the trees and got ourselves set up for the night. I cooked us some sausage, peppers, and onions (a favorite camping meal of ours) and then we cuddled up for the chilly night. Breakfast burritos and coffee were a tasty start to the next day and we snapped some pics of our setup before packing up and heading home. It was a simple, peaceful, and fun jaunt and gave us a lot of ideas of what we still need to do before our big trip coming up at the end of July and some insight into what our lives will look like when we are on the road.
